Allianz launches Europe-based IPMI plans for individuals and families

Allianz Partners is launching a range of international private medical insurance (IPMI) plans for individuals and families as part of its Care product offering.

The policies are available only for new business customers and are primarily tailored for EU and UK markets, with a new Europe geographical area of cover option introduced.

The insurer added that updated products for other regions, including Dubai and Asia Pacific, are also being developed.

The new plans are for those spending 12 months or more away from their home country, including expatriates, students, digital nomads, professionals and families living or working abroad.

The three core levels, base, enhanced, and signature, provide a standard set of benefits including inpatient care.

Outpatient services and dental care are available as optional add-ons.

All core plans include private room hospital accommodation and have medical repatriation benefits, the insurer said.

The enhanced and signature core plans include maternity benefits with a 12-month waiting period and bariatric surgery with a 24-month waiting period.

All levels of the optional outpatient add-ons include cancer screenings, hormone replacement therapy (HRT), no waiting periods for out-patient psychiatry and psychotherapy, and health and wellbeing checks.

Sleep apnoea is included on enhanced and signature versions.

Health & Protection has contacted Allianz Partners for a full break down of the new product.

Mariana Ishchuk, global head of product management and innovation for health at Allianz Partners said the new plans simplified the decision-making journey.

“We’ve listened closely to feedback from our customers and brokers, and the new Care plans now include additional benefits as part of the core offering, reduced waiting periods for key services like maternity, psychology, and expanded outpatient coverage,” she said.

She added the revamp of aligned with the insurer’s strategic vision and commitment to its customers.
