Allianz Partners hires Moon as UK&I CEO despite previously giving Taylor role

Allianz Partners UK and Ireland has appointed Patricia Moon as chief executive officer (CEO) despite initially unveiling its chief sales officer Lee Taylor as Tim Tozer’s successor last summer.

Moon, most recently CEO of Allianz Partners Japan, succeeded Tozer who stepped down from his role on 28 February 2023.

Tozer, who had been CEO of Allianz Partners UK and Ireland since September 2018, has now taken on the role of non-executive chairman, succeeding Mike Webb.

In July 2022 Allianz revealed chief sales officer Lee Taylor was set to succeed Tozer as CEO on 1 October last year, but according to Taylor’s LinkedIn account, he never took on the role and has since been appointed CEO for Benelux and the Nordics.

Health & Protection has asked Allianz Partners for comment about the change in succession plans.

Moon has spent 20 years with Allianz working across four different countries and different lines of business and functions.

Since 2019, she was CEO of Allianz Partners Japan after leading operations in the country for three years and before that was global head of HR for Allianz Partners Group in Paris. She has also held various roles at Allianz SE in Munich as well as at Allianz Portugal.

Moon will report to Alexis Obligi, regional CEO for Western Europe, Latin America and MEA (Middle East and Africa).

Obligi said: “I would like to extend a warm welcome to Patricia and wish her well in her new role as she continues to drive forward the growth journey for UK and Ireland.

“At the same time, I would like to thank Tim for having developed the business significantly during his tenure and for continuing to provide his valuable support in his new role as non-executive chairman.”

Moon (pictured) added: “I am delighted to now be leading the UK and Ireland business as CEO.  I am passionate about our business and the impact it has in our customers’ lives.

“The team at Allianz Partners UK and Ireland are dedicated to helping people through some of the most challenging moments of their life: whether travelling, at home, or when behind a wheel.

“Ultimately our mission is to deliver great experiences and peace of mind to our customers and business partners, and I look forward to fulfilling this mission together with the team.”
