AMII adds two advice firm members

The Association of Medical Insurers and Intermediaries (AMII) has welcomed Vida Insurance Advisors and Surrey Circle Health as its first new members of 2022.

Both firms were created after their founders left SecureHealth.

Bedford-based Vida Insurance Advisors was set up by Nick Meek in July 2020 and offers advice on private medical insurance (PMI) and protection products for individuals and SMEs.

Commenting on today’s development, Meek said he was delighted to be coming on board with AMII.

“I’ve built up a base of close clients and a good level of expertise over the last decade but, most importantly, I really enjoy what I do so I wanted to continue in the industry and decided to set up on my own,” he said.

“I think the health sector in the UK is shifting and this has been further accelerated by the pandemic. Business is booming and last month I had the busiest month I’ve had in the whole 11 years I’ve been working in the industry.

“There has been a huge uptake recently and I think this is a result of a number of things but largely people have realised that Covid is not going away, and it has changed the NHS forever. Demand on services is not going to reduce, and more and more people want to make a plan for their health with this in mind.

“I expect the year ahead to be just as busy and it is a crucial time for our industry.”

Surrey Circle Health is based in Addlestone and was set up by Daniel Donoghue, who also left SecureHealth in July 2020.

Donoghue has previously represented Aviva, VitalityHealth and Axa Health and said he was pleased to be joining AMII and looked forward to trying to help further the ongoing governance of the UK’s PMI industry.

“I’ve been advising and organising private healthcare policies for individual and corporate clients across Southeast England and central London for 24 years,” he said.

“I pride myself on the relationships I build with my clients, always going the extra mile, actively listening and asking relevant questions to tailor the most appropriate policy to meet their needs.

“I find my work easy as I’m genuinely interested in my clients as people, and it’s a real privilege to represent them, ensuring that they are receiving the best deal that they could possibly insure themselves with in the UK today.

David Middleton, executive chairman at AMII, (pictured) added: “This is a great way to kick off what is set to be a busy year. As an association, we are stronger together, and Daniel and Nick will only add to our voice and influence.”
