Aviva is enhancing its fracture cover benefit for new protection policies to improve financial support for customers during their recovery.

Cover is available for 18 types of bone fractures and 11 of these will see increased claims payments, with seven fractures now eligible for the highest payment of £6,000.

Customers are also eligible for physiotherapy support in the event of a successful claim.

Since the launch of fracture cover in 2016, Aviva has paid more than £10m in bone fracture claims.

The most common fracture claims are wrist (14%), hand (13%), arm (11%) and ankle (11%.)

Jacqueline Kerwood, claims philosophy manager at Aviva, said: “Fracture cover can offer customers valuable financial support – especially for those unable to work.

“These increased payments can be used to help customers with the unexpected costs of such an injury such as childcare, taxis and travel to additional hospital appointments.

“This financial support allows customers to focus on their recovery.”
