Aviva extends legal service add-on to all group risk customers

Aviva is adding the Red Apple Law legal service to its group income protection and group critical illness customers, following the launch of the proposition to its group life customers last year.

Insured and uninsured employees working for organisations with an Aviva group protection policy can access the suite of legal services and it is also available to the employee’s spouse or partner.

The support includes a range of free and discounted services such as a will writing service, help with funeral planning and guidance to help individuals navigate the estate administration process.

A 25% discount applies to services including will writing, lasting power of attorney, life planning and the funeral wishes register.

It also offers emotional help through online grief support.

Should an employee or their spouse or partner be diagnosed with a terminal illness, the services can help the individual review their current estate planning or talk to a professional to put legal documents and practical plans in place.

Fran Bruce, managing director of protection at Aviva, (pictured) said: “We are delighted to extend Red Apple Law’s extensive life planning, estate management and bereavement support to our group income protection and group critical illness customers.

“The specialist support encompasses a wide range of areas, from will writing and lasting power of attorney services through to help with funeral planning, estate administration and bereavement counselling.

“If an individual sadly dies, the specialist teams offer guidance and support every step of the way, helping to ease the process and giving loved ones the space to grieve.“
