Benenden Health adds SkinVision service for all members

Benenden Health has added skin cancer detection service SkinVision to its products giving access to all its 870,000 membership.

New members will be able to access the service from day one joining.

SkinVision’s mobile application is designed to help people detect skin cancer early.

By combining a clinically validated artificial intelligence (AI) algorithm with the expertise of leading dermatologists, the app analyses photos of moles and skin spots to assess the risk of skin cancer with high accuracy.

The regulated class II medical device can detect signs of most common skin cancers with more than 90% sensitivity.

David Winter, head of innovation at Benenden Health, said: “Early signs of skin cancer can be hard to spot, leaving people uncertain and worried. With diagnoses on the rise, this early detection service for our members couldn’t come at a better time.

“Should members detect any concerns, through our diagnostics offering, we can ensure that members receive prompt onward support whenever it’s needed.”

Erik de Heus, CEO of SkinVision, added: “We are very excited to partner with Benenden Health to support their members to take control of their skin health.

“With the app, they can routinely check their skin and get a qualified risk assessment they can share with their doctor. This means faster action when needed, and less waiting when it’s not.”
