Bupa launches MyHealthcare benefits for frontline staff

Bupa has launched MyHealthcare – a range of health benefits for its more than 15,000 frontline employees across its care homes and dental practices.

Staff will benefit from a range of primary care services including remote GP appointments, physiotherapy support, mental health support and access to its nurse helpline.

The new package is available from day one of employment for permanent staff and is free to employees, with Bupa paying the tax benefit on behalf of colleagues meaning it will not affect their take-home pay.

It said the move followed feedback from frontline teams on the services that they would most value.

Bupa added further benefits will be introduced throughout the year.

The new primary care support for frontline workers marks the first phase of a global wellbeing programme, Bupa Viva, which includes all aspects of health – from mental and physical, to financial, social and environmental wellbeing.

This will enhance health benefits and medical cover for all employees worldwide throughout 2023.

Tom Hoosen-Webber, chief people and procurement officer at Bupa Global & UK said people were at the heart of the business and it wanted to keep them healthy and happy in their roles.

“We are proud to deliver the highest quality medical care to our patients, residents and customers, and we want our hardworking teams to have access to this same high quality care,” he said.

“Colleagues now have health benefits that meet their needs without the financial burden, and have access to medical support in a flexible way.”
