Cirencester Friendly has appointed Alan Waddington as director of distribution.
He succeeds Andy Peters from 5 December. Peters has held the role of interim director of distribution since November last year.
Peters will stay on for a brief transitionary handover period of responsibilities after Waddington has taken up his post.
Waddington was director of intermediary distribution and partnerships at OneFamily for nine months having joined in February.
Prior to that he was head of intermediary sales at Guardian Financial Services having spent four years at the insurer.
He also spent five and a half years as national account manager at British Friendly and as previous experience at PruProtect (now Vitality) and Staysure.
In his new role, he will be charged with continuing to develop and implement the firm’s proactive distribution strategy, while enhancing brand awareness and product proposition, the insurer said.
