David Battle leads trio of senior appointments at Healix

Healix has today announced three senior hires as the business continues to expand its team and product offering, including David Battle, Steven Whitehouse and Richard Jones.

David Battle joins Healix as non-executive director, following a career that has ranged from start-ups to multi-nationals.

Battle (pictured) previously lead Lorica through an aggressive growth phase through to a successful trade sale to Aon and then became CEO of Aon Employee Benefits for nine years before retiring from Aon at the end of 2023.

In 2023, David was recognised by Health & Protection for his outstanding contribution to the industry.

Whitehouse is taking up the newly created position of group chief technology officer.

His career includes working across start-ups, SMEs, and multi-national corporations, including IBM and Ford. His experience has seen him plan and implement large-scale technology solutions and infrastructures, including contactless payments for the London Oyster Card Network for Cubic Transportation Systems.

Jones joins Healix as data and pricing director, leaving his most recent role as head of pricing at Barclays.

He will focus on working with the senior team to shape and implement the pricing strategy moving forward, enabling Healix to continue on its growth path.

His previous experience includes senior pricing positions with Axa and Direct Line Group, before moving to Barclays in 2013.

Period of growth

Ian Talbot, CEO of Healix Health, said: “These three fantastic new additions to the team feel like a real statement of intent for Healix, as we continue to go through an exciting period of growth.

“They each bring with them fantastic experience and knowledge and will help us shape the future of the business.”

Battle said of his new role: “I am really excited to be joining Healix at this time.

“I have always had a huge respect for Healix and the people who work there.

“It’s a business which is big enough to have substantial clout within the healthcare and risk management marketplace, but still has the culture and flexibility to deliver a customised and personalised approach to intermediary and client needs.”

Whitehouse said: “It is a fantastic opportunity to join an organisation like Healix, one which is strategically focused and full of like-minded people.

“This role will offer me the opportunity to utilise state of the art technologies that will help maximise and shape the company’s future.”

Jones said:“Healix is a fantastic business that has all the credentials to succeed at scale. Its huge data assets, unique product offering and overarching ambition are compelling.

“Unlocking value from data to ameliorate customer outcomes is both viable and exciting at Healix and presents one of many opportunities to disrupt the market in a positive way.”
