FCA Treasury Committee session postponed

The Financial Conduct Authority’s session with the Treasury Committee set for today has been postponed.

The session was due to take place this morning on a day in which unconfirmed reports claim Prime Minister Boris Johnson is to step down as Conservative Party leader but remain as PM until the autumn.

In a tweet the Treasury Committee confirmed the session has been postponed.

The session would have seen FCA CEO Nikhil Rathi and interim chairman Richard Lloyd face scrutiny from MPs about the work of the regulator.

While no reason was given for the postponement, the committee confirmed a new date for the session will be announced “as soon as possible”.
