In a week where protection adviser Raj Chohan (pictured) led her team to victory on The Apprentice, a former colleague has told Health & Protection why her confident performance has come as no surprise.
In the fourth week of The Apprentice, the remaining contenders to be Lord Sugar’s business partner participated in a buying task on the island of Jersey.
It was a week in which Chohan excelled yet again as she volunteered to be project team leader and presided over a victory so complete – Lord Sugar felt forced into a double firing amid the most explosive boardroom scenes yet of this season.
It seems fitting then that in such a successful week for the Apprentice‘s resident protection adviser, that Health & Protection should speak to her former colleague, financial adviser Max Bahia.
Bahia explained that he has worked with Chohan twice – when they were both at Barclays Bank and when she joined him at a mortgage practice firm.
Exuding confidence
Having seen the way Chohan works at such close quarters, Bahia told Health & Protection about some of her strengths.
“I think the levels of the confidence she exudes first of all is a big thing. I want to say fearless but she is extremely confident. I’m very proud of her in terms of what I’m seeing.
“She’s got extensive experience throughout her working career as it is and I think they are all attributes that she should be able to take through this process and hopefully do very well with.”
Winning the whole show
Bahia revealed he messaged Chohan in the second week of the show when she proved to be star seller.
“It typified Raj,” Bahia continued. “Asking for tips typifies her and her level of confidence.”
And Bahia maintained he would not be surprised if Chohan wins the show.
“It’s whether Lord Sugar wants to get into the type of business Raj runs. But I can certainly see her getting down to the last two or three. I would expect her to get through to the latter stages of the process.”
Double firing
This week’s task saw the teams set about buying a number of items before meeting at the rendezvous point at a Jersey lighthouse. Chohan showed superb time management and delegation skills as Flo Edwards’ excellent negotiation prowess came to the fore yet again.
The fact Chohan’s team made it to the meeting point in time without incurring a penalty and only missed out on one item meant her charges promptly trounced the opposition.
And while opposing project lead Jack Davies initially brought Amina Khan and Maura Rath back with him to the boardroom, due to feedback from adviser Karren Brady, Lord Sugar asked the whole team to return to his office, with Khan and Davies shown the door.
