Gallagher buys Connecticut health and benefits consulting firm

Arthur J Gallagher & Co has acquired Connecticut-based Cleary Benefits Group.

Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Cleary Benefits Group is a health and benefits consulting firm serving primarily mid-size to large commercial clients.

Following the deal, Brian Cleary, Heather Katz and their team will stay in their current location under the direction of Scott Sherman, head of Gallagher’s North East region employee benefits consulting and brokerage operations.

Patrick Gallagher, Jr, chairman and CEO of Gallagher, said: “Cleary Benefits Group has a strong industry reputation and will further enhance our benefits consulting capabilities in the region.

“I am very pleased to welcome Brian, Heather and their associates to Gallagher.”

Health & Protection reported in March that Gallagher had acquired Health Insurance Consultants Australia (HICA)  in Melbourne.

And in January, Health & Protection reported that Gallagher had acquired US broker The Rowley Agency.
