Gemma Penkethman joins Right Mortgage & Protection Network in PMI role

The Right Mortgage & Protection Network (TRM) has appointed Gemma Penkethman as its private medical insurance (PMI) supervision and development manager.

The appointment is part of the network’s plan to expand its presence in the PMI market, having developed a specialist division to support advisers in addressing the gap within the intermediary market for expert-led advice and support.

Penkethman will drive forward the network’s PMI proposition as well as overseeing supervisors and trainees.

The role involves contributing to key PMI projects, including system implementation, coaching and monitoring advisers, and supporting training and competence programmes.

Her arrival follows the recruitment of Sandra Fuelle as insurance development manager in September. Developing the PMI division is one of her responsibilities.

Penkethman brings more than a decade of PMI experience to TRM having worked in business development for Bupa and Axa Health.

Prior to this she was a senior employee benefits consultant at Everywhen.

Penkethman said she is excited to be supporting the growth of the firm’s PMI proposition. “I look forward to supporting advisers and contributing to the continued development of this specialist area.”

Amy Wilson, TRM’s head of insurance, added that Penkethman joins at an important time for the firm’s healthcare proposition.

“Her appointment reflects our continued growth in this space and our commitment to building a specialist division that supports advisers in delivering high-quality PMI advice.”

“With recent strategic hires and ongoing investment, we are focused on addressing the clear opportunity within the intermediary market for a stronger, more specialist PMI offering, and Gemma will play a key role in helping us, and our member firms, achieve this,” she said.
