GP led private medical firm Orbalis launches

Private medical company Orbalis has launched.

The provider’s range of services includes GP home visiting, physiotherapy, occupational therapy, counselling, health checks, blood tests and reports.

The firm has been launched by three Leicestershire GPs who have been joined by a host of other practising medical professionals with a range of experience across the NHS and private healthcare.

Alongside providing traditional GP care, the firm revealed it is developing packages such as Women’s Health – a bespoke programme for women of any age struggling with the menopause with support from doctors, pharmacists, physiotherapists, and counsellors.

It will also be offering ‘Prescription Strength‘ – a bespoke treatment offered by Dr Ewart, a fully qualified and experienced GP and personal trainer.  The one-to-one treatment is aimed at all ages who want to build muscle mass, increase bone density, and build strength.

The firm’s founders also revealed they will be committing the organisation’s first week’s earnings to ‘Medic to Medic‘ – a charity supporting healthcare workers on the frontline of Ukraine.

Dr Laura Florence, founder and medical director, said: “We are incredibly proud of the team we have working with us. These are the clinicians we would want to treat our own family members.”

Dr Adam Griffiths, founder and managing director, said: “Orbalis has been created in a way that allows its doctors and clinicians time and space to focus on delivering excellence without the worry of ticking boxes or being limited to seven minutes of time with their clients.

“For one this may mean extra time spent explaining their medication, for another this may be accompanying them to a hospital appointment to offer support and act as an advocate, or for another just time to properly listen to and understand the problem.

“In essence we want a company that we would be proud to work for and which values its staff as its most important asset.”

Dr Kathryn Basnayake, founder, clinical director and Womens’ Health lead, said: “We want to be able to create space and time for busy women to help them through the menopause and beyond.”

Dr Lynette Ewart, GP and Prescription Strength lead, added: “The vision for prescription strength is being a real alternative to tablets for improving health and well-being. By showing our clients what their bodies are capable of doing, it will offer them a chance to improve strength, balance, function, and confidence without any risks of side effects.”
