LifeSearch has partnered with Gretel, a hub that reconnects consumers with lost and dormant accounts including investments, savings, bank accounts, pensions, and life insurance.
The partnership sees Gretel to feature as one of LifeSearch’s recommended partners, and offer its members additional educational content and access to the LifeSearch team of advisers for fee-free advice about protection insurance.
As customers look for and are reconnected with their financial assets, LifeSearch will aim to ensure they are protected properly, while also educating customers to understand how their newly-found protection works – for extra financial confidence.
Through LifeSearch services, Gretel customers will be offered advice on building a ‘Plan B’ to provide a financial safety net and support in the event of death, serious illness, accident, and long-term sickness.
Justin Harper, chief marketing officer at LifeSearch, (pictured) said: “We’re excited to partner with Gretel to support those customers who, after locating their financial assets, want to feel more confident about their financial resilience.
“As people are seeking and reunited with lost financial assets – particularly their life insurance policies – it’s an ideal time to help people understand what they’ve got and ensure they’re financially prepared for what fate might throw at them.
“We look forward to the future of our partnership and what we can implement to continue bettering customers’ experience when finding their lost financial assets, and to helping build their financial resilience.”
Duncan Stevens, CEO at Gretel, added: “Over 28 million accounts with a combined value of £89bn have been lost or forgotten in the UK. This figure includes £64bn in pensions, £5.3bn in lost investments and shares, and over £8bn in lost life insurance.
“At Gretel, we believe it should be easy for people to find and recover money that is due to them.
“We’re on a mission to help our members to locate and recover assets and empower them to feel more in charge of their financial lives and futures.
“Our partnership with LifeSearch will further bolster our customers’ experience using our services, not only through providing a range of protection but also by offering education to ultimately fuel their financial confidence.
“We are confident this partnership will continue to clear the mist surrounding protection and strengthen their financial resilience.”
