Guardian has appointed Helen Morris (pictured) to the newly-created role of technical claims manager.
Morris joins from Aegon where she was head of underwriting and claims for protection.
Her latest move marks a return to Guardian, having worked for the older Guardian brand between 1987 and 1996 before its subsequent buy-out.
Reporting to head of claims, Phil Deacon, Morris will be responsible for supporting claims governance, claims philosophy, onboarding, training and development, and claims key performance indicators (KPIs) to ensure fairness and consistency of customer outcomes and experience as the Guardian business scales up.
Coming full circle
Morris said: “I’m delighted to be joining Guardian as this exciting protection business continues to grow.
“Having started my career with the brand in its original form, it feels like I’ve come full circle.
“I’m impressed with what Guardian has achieved so far; particularly its commitment to driving good customer outcomes and experience at claim, which was demonstrated in its first-ever claims report published earlier this summer.
“I’m looking forward to helping the team continue to deliver fairness and consistency of claims outcomes and experience, as the business scales and claims volumes grow.”
Key role
Deacon added: “Helen’s vast experience of claims – spanning claims philosophy, governance, claims experience and hands-on customer support – will be a real asset to our team and I’m delighted to have her on board.
“Her contributions and expertise will play a key role in helping us to continue to deliver Guardian’s exceptional claims service as we continue to grow.”
