Health insurance most valued benefit among all age groups bar Boomers – Aon

Health insurance is the most valued benefit for all employees bar Baby Boomers.

This is according to Aon’s 2025 Employer Sentiment Study which surveyed more than 9,000 employed professionals, aged 18-64, across 23 geographies across the globe.

The survey found health insurance ranked as the most valued benefit among Gen Z (born between 1997 and 2021), Millennials (born between 1981 and 1996) and Gen X (born between 1965 and 1980).

For Baby Boomers (born between 1946 and 1964), retirement savings ranked as the most popular benefit ahead of paid time off, health insurance and dental insurance.

But the report also found 49% of respondents said employers should support employee wellbeing.

This placed above the 45% who said employers should help employees save for retirement/long term needs and the 37% who said employers should support women’s health (e.g. menstruation, menopause).

The same number (37%) said employers should provide financial education, while 36% said employers should support with childcare.
