Healthcare benefits are a key priority for Accenture UK as NHS wait times remain stubbornly high.

This is according to the multinational professional services company’s reward, recognition and performance lead, who was speaking at London HR Connection’s Pay and Benefits event in London last week.

“We’re all about healthcare at the moment,” Claire Tinkler revealed in a panel session.

“With what’s going on in the NHS, it’s more and more important that we’re providing healthcare for our employees.

“You want them to be well and healthy, but actually you want them to be in work.”

“So being able to access a GP appointment tomorrow online rather than waiting three weeks, all of that. We’re really investing in healthcare. We’re looking at the cost of that.”

Tinkler added that the company’s focus has been on preventing conditions occurring in the first place.

“You want to catch someone’s cancer before it’s even started rather than treating it,” she said.
