Howden has appointed Carla Hammond as chief financial officer for Howden Health & Employee Benefits (HEB) and Barnett Waddingham (BW).
In this role, she will lead financial strategy, governance and performance across Howden’s combined UK employee benefits business and will also provide financial oversight for HEB’s global operations, supporting Howden’s international employee benefits footprint.
Hammond (pictured) joins from Jones Lang LaSalle (JLL), where she spent 18 years in senior finance leadership roles, most recently as head of finance for the UK and Ireland.
She will report to Glenn Thomas, CEO of UK health and employee benefits and global practice leader at Howden.
Her appointment is effective immediately, subject to regulatory approval.
Thomas said: “Carla’s international experience will be a real advantage as we push ahead, particularly with our growth plans in the United States.
“She also brings the steady financial leadership we need as we continue to bring BW and HEB closer together and build one business together. With Carla on board, we’ll stay focused, disciplined and in great shape for the next stage of our growth.”
Carla Hammond, chief financial officer, health and employee benefits at Howden/BW, said: “I’m incredibly excited to join the employee benefits team at Howden during this pivotal time in its growth journey.
“The energy and passion from everyone I’ve met has been inspiring, and I’m thrilled by the opportunity to ensure finance acts as a strategic partner to drive the business forward.”
Andrew Vaughan, senior partner at Barnett Waddingham, added: “Carla’s appointment marks another important step in building a stronger, unified employee benefits business across BW and Howden.
“Her blend of commercial focus and financial discipline will be invaluable as we continue aligning our operations and delivering greater value for clients. We’re delighted to welcome her and look forward to working closely together.”
