International Medical Group (IMG) has made two key appointments, including installing Amanda Winkle as chief operating officer (COO).
The insurer has also appointed Sophie Cummins as regional business development manager for the UK and Rest of World within its international private medical insurance (IPMI) business, ahead of product expansion in 2023.
Cummins will be responsible for driving growth within the IPMI business which covers individuals, families and group plans.
“She will be based out of IMG’s Redhill office in the UK and will be managing a team of sales managers while also preparing the insurer’s brokers for the expansion of product offerings in 2023,” the insurer said.
Cummins previously held sales roles at Saga Insurance Services, Gap 360, and Axa Global Healthcare where she was initially an international account manager before being promoted to international broker sales manager.
Cummins said: “I am excited for the opportunity to be joining the IMG team to help grow IPMI business in the UK, Africa, Asia, and beyond.
“With my previous experience in insurance and healthcare, I’m looking forward to building new and strengthening existing relationships with IMG brokers.”
Kevin Melton, global head of IPMI at IMG, said: “We are very happy to have Sophie joining our team.
“Sophie will be instrumental in helping us hit our ambitious growth plans over the next five years, and we are looking forward to seeing the impact she will make as the regional business development manager for the UK and Rest of World.”
Recruiting for CCO
Winkle was previously the firm’s chief commercial officer (CCO) and will oversee its commercial, IT and operations functions and spearhead its growth initiatives.
As a result of the promotion, IMG said it was actively recruiting for a successor as chief commercial officer.
Winkle started out as account manager at the company in May 2000 before joining UnitedHealthOne as national sales director.
Upon her return to IMG in 2013, she served as its vice president of international sales for six years before taking on the role of chief commercial officer nearly three years ago.
Winkle said she was honoured to take on this new role and that throughout her tenure she had worked incredibly hard to drive its vision and strategy.
“I look forward to continuing this trend in my expanded role,” she said.
Steve Parabosch, president and CEO of IMG, added: “Amanda has been instrumental in the strategic growth and marketplace success we have had as a company during her time as our chief commercial officer.
“We are proud to recognise her hard work and dedication through this new role, and I am confident Amanda will continue to drive industry-leading results as our chief operating officer.”
