The sector people work in appears to dictate whether or not they have access to employer provided health and wellbeing services.
Data from Bupa’s Workplace Wellbeing Census reveals just 26% of people working in hospitality and leisure have access to health and wellbeing services, while 45% of retail workers said the same.
This compares with 76% of finance and accounting employees.
And notably, four in 10 (43%) workers did not have access to mental health and wellbeing services overall.
Two thirds of respondents said they valued the health services offered by their employer and 79% said they would use these services if they needed to.
The report also revealed that just 16% of workers in small companies had access to health and wellbeing services, compared with 44% in medium sized companies and 73% of those at large firms.
