Philippines life insurer Insular Life has appointed Efren Caringal as chief operations officer (COO).
Caringal (pictured) joins from Allianz PNB Life where he was chief finance officer and treasurer. He was also previously a chief risk officer in Dublin and Munich at Allianz Global Life.
As COO and one of the the insurer’s group heads, Caringal will have oversight on strategy and financial management, insurance operations, actuarial, investment management, real property, information technology including digital transformation, and information security and data privacy.
Commenting on Caringal’s appointment, Insular Life president and CEO Raoul Littaua, said: “Efren has built a strong life insurance experience gained from both domestic and international life insurance companies.
“He will work closely with the board of trustees and top management in formulating and implementing business strategies.”
