Insured Nomads has announced the promotion of Minwoo (Chris) Nam to the role of chief commercial officer (CCO).
Nam joined Birmingham, Alabama-based Insured Nomads in 2022, initially as director of engagement and subsequently as chief of staff.
In 2024, he took a season away from the company to consult on a new venture with Tokio Marine, gaining industry experience. Upon returning, he spearheaded strategic initiatives alongside chief insurance officer Allen Koski and CEO Andrew Jernigan.
The role, based in New York City, aligns with the firm’s ongoing strategy to enhance its commercial operations by broadening its strategic partnerships, integrating data and analytics, and improving service delivery for clients globally.
In his role, Nam will oversee global growth into new markets and commercial operations, including sales, marketing, and business development, with a focus on accelerating growth and enhancing customer experience.
Nam said: “Today, I step into a new chapter as chief commercial officer of Insured Nomads.
“This milestone is deeply meaningful to me, not just professionally, but personally.
“Having lived away from my home country for much of my life, I’ve experienced first-hand the challenges and opportunities that come with building a life across borders. I’ve felt the uncertainty of navigating new systems, the vulnerability of being far from home, and the growth that comes with stepping into the unfamiliar.
“At Insured Nomads, we exist to support people who live globally – remote workers, expats, travellers, and distributed teams. In many ways, I’ve walked in the shoes of those we serve.
“I’m proud and honoured to take on this responsibility. As I step into this new role, I carry with me the perspective of someone who’s lived the life our company is built around.
“I’m honoured to lead with that experience, and to continue building solutions that provide security, confidence, and connection: wherever life takes you.
“When I entered into my first role at Insured Nomads, I had no idea what my career would look like. I’m grateful for mentors like Andrew Jernigan, Lisa Kerr, Allen Koski, CEBS, and all those who have mentored and guided me.
“Excited to continue leading the team at Insured Nomads and thankful for the trust, and excited for what’s ahead.”
Jernigan said: “I welcome Chris as a catalyst for global growth and innovation and an executive management team member.
“Over the years he has excelled in leading the relationships with members of WBN – Worldwide Broker Network, and is a highly respected and rising insurance executive who will drive the development of innovative client offerings, expand our presence into new markets, and build strategic alliances, all while advancing our commitment to advocating for clients and excelling in our core expertise.
“Chris brings a integrity, a wealth of experience and passion to this role, and I’m excited to see how his leadership will drive our commercial growth and innovation forward.”
