Mental health minister moves to Department for Culture, Media and Sport

Nadine Dorries, previously minister for mental health, suicide prevention and patient safety, has been appointed  digital, culture, media and sport secretary.

It also appears health secretary Sajid Javid has kept his role amid an extensive reshuffle of prime minister Boris Johnson’s cabinet.

Javid was only appointed in late June when he succeeded Matt Hancock, who resigned after his affair with aide Gina Coladangelo was revealed.

Confirmed appointments as of the afternoon of 15 September include Rishi Sunak, who retains the role of chancellor of the exchequer.

Liz Truss has been appointed foreign secretary, replacing Dominc Raab, who becomes deputy prime minister, lord chancellor and justice secretary. Priti Patel has retained her role as home secretary.
