Legal & General offers special pricing and benefits for Co-op life and CI tie-in

Legal & General has partnered with Co-op Insurance to offer its members and customers life and critical illness cover.

The insurer said its arrangement includes “exclusive pricing” and benefits for Co-op customers and members.

Health & Protection has asked Legal & General how the different terms compare to its standard intermediary offering.

It is offering life insurance and decreasing life insurance, with or without critical illness cover, and over-50s fixed life insurance.

L&G further pointed to Health & Protection that Co-op members will receive a premium discount on the life insurance product, and increased cash sums on the over-50s product. All customers will be eligible for a £100 voucher across either product after their policy has been live for six months

Customers who buy a policy through Co-op will also benefit from access to L&G’s care concierge and wellbeing support via RedArc, two additional services provided free of charge and typically available on retail protection offerings.

Care concierge helps customers and their families find and arrange later life care, while wellbeing support offers emotional and practical support for customers and their loved ones during difficult times.

L&G said cover will be made available from £5 per month on both life and over 50s products, dependant on customer’s age, health and lifestyle.

Matthew Collings, partnership development manager at Co-op Insurance, said: “This partnership is part of our ongoing commitment to provide products and services that make a difference to our customers’ lives, and to support them through every stage of their journey.”

Claire Beardmore, partnerships director at Legal & General, added: “I am delighted to be partnering with Co-op Insurance Services to provide a range of life and critical illness products.

“With exclusive pricing for Co-op members, we are confident that this new partnership will be a great success.”
