Lewis succeeds Almeida as Maxis GBN head of business development

Maxis Global Benefits Network, the international employee benefits joint venture between MetLife and Axa Maxis GBN, has appointed Paul Lewis as global head of business development.

Lewis succeeds Ricardo Almeida who has joined Mercer Marsh Benefits to lead its Latin America and Caribbean employee benefits business.

Lewis (pictured) will oversee Maxis GBN’s four business development regions, will report to Mattieu Rouot, CEO of Maxis GBN and will sit on the company’s executive committee.

Lewis has more than 15 years’ experience working with multinational organisations and implementing global employee benefits programmes. He joined Maxis GBN in 2016 and was promoted to regional director – Americas in February this year.

Prior to joining Maxis GBN, he was a regional sales manager with MetLife Expatriate Benefits and had worked for eight years with Aetna within underwriting and international account management.

Lewis said: “I’m delighted to be taking on this new position and really looking forward to working closely with our highly talented teams around the world to continue growing Maxis GBN’s business globally.

“There’s a compelling opportunity in the market as more multinationals look to global employee benefits programmes to control costs and offer more to their people.”

Rouot added: “Our Americas team has gone from strength-to-strength under Paul’s leadership and he’s done an exceptional job working with some of the largest and most sophisticated multinational companies in the US, Latin America and Canada.

“With Paul’s leadership of the global business development team, I’m very confident that we will see even more positive results, with a strong focus on customer experience and teamwork.”
