MetLife pays £1m in child claims

MetLife has paid £1m in child claims as of 20 September, according to data released by the insurer.

The insurer’s internal data also found that as of June 2021, 52% of its MultiProtect policyholders had added children to their protection insurance.

Research from MetLife also found that the health of family was a greater priority for most people than themselves.

According to its survey of 2,000 people conducted by Censuswide in June, when asked what concerned them most, respondents overwhelmingly said the health of their children (67%) and their partner (70%).

Parents were found to be more concerned about the health of their children and partner than themselves, with just half (50%) worried about themselves having an accident and 44% worried about social care and health costs.
