National Friendly has added dental support from Toothfairy for all new members of its Friendly Shield product.
Powered by Toothfairy, the health-regulated smart dental app is designed by dentists, and operated in partnership with UK dental professionals delivering remote advice, guidance, and prescriptions.
The service will include:
- Unlimited around the clock access to a dental chat helpline with a qualified dentist where members can upload photos and videos for reassurance, diagnosis and second opinion,
- Expert-led videos and articles on dental health,
- Emergency online dental appointments,
- Help finding in-person emergency treatment,
- Symptom checker tool,
- 10% discount on cosmetic dental treatments including whitening and straightening.
Friendly Shield has a three-level structure that requires no medical or financial underwriting. It can be added as a rider to existing policies or sold standalone.
The amount of cover will depend on which one of the three tiers is selected with premiums starting from £10 a month.
The insurer said it was making the move to mark the first anniversary since the launch of the Friendly Shield product.
