The vast majority of adults in England and Wales now have Covid antibodies, according to official data.
Figures released by the Office for National Statistics (ONS) revealed that around nine in 10 adults, or 89.8% of the adult population in England, up from 80.3% in May, would have tested positive for Covid antibodies in a blood test in the week commencing 14 June.
Wales leads the way in terms of Covid antibodies (91.8%), up from 80.3% in May, followed by Northern Ireland – 87.2%, up from 79.9% in May and Scotland – 84.7%, up from 72.6% in May.
The data also revealed the estimated percentage of adults who have received one or more doses of a Covid vaccine continued to increase across all regions, ranging from 84.5% in London to 88.6% in the South East.
The number those who reported they were fully vaccinated ranged from 55.7.% in London to 68.9% in the East Midlands.
