PG Mutual introduces wellbeing and counselling service for members

PG Mutual has partnered with Validium to launch a wellbeing counselling service to its members and said it has already started to see good use of the services.

Validium is part of the HealthHero group and has delivered mental health and wellbeing services via helplines for more than 23 years.

Christine Anderson, CSR manager at PG Mutual, added: “In these worrying times, we wanted to ensure that members and their dependants could access a mental health specialist service to assist with personal or work-related problems likely to affect their wellbeing.

“I am therefore delighted that we could add the member wellbeing counselling services offered by Validium which complements our remote GP services provided by HealthHero.

“We are looking forward to working with their team and I am very excited about the future of this shared initiative.”

Debbie Cullen, senior relationship manager at Validium, said the helpline was a great source of support for people struggling with any aspect of their day-to-day wellbeing.

“Social isolation has been highlighted by a small number of clients who had previously been part of a support group or network,” she said.

“Perhaps family members visited more frequently but became anxious during the pandemic, and visits and even calls dropped off.

“The team can help individuals think about the support and coping strategies that have been helpful to them in the past with a view to picking up again with some of the support that was most helpful.”
