PIB Employee Benefits has appointed Tony Powis as non-executive chairman as the firm begins a global expansion.
Powis has held a number of senior positions across the industry including as chairman, chief executive officer and head of sales within firms including Alexander Forbes in South Africa and Willis Employee Benefits.
“Plans are underway for a more global approach to benefits which will be facilitated through the increased use of technology. The new appointment therefore reflects those expansion plans,” the firm said.
“Tony Powis’ career spans over 30 years of financial services experience in the UK, international and global markets.
“His proven track record in delivering growth and retention, along with experience in managing large acquisitions, align with the ambitions of PIB Employee Benefits,” it added.
Supporting future expansion
PIB Employee Benefits was formed in 2016 and is part of PIB Group, supporting clients from micro-SME through to large corporates.
The business said it was continuing to expand in the UK through organic and acquisitive growth in line with client and market trends – it bought broker firm I2 Healthcare in 2018.
Managing director David Skinner said: “I’d like to give a very warm welcome to Tony as our non-executive chairman at PIB Employee Benefits.
“His experience will play a key part to supporting our senior team and future expansion, while at the same time providing a further level of oversight within the business.
“We will really benefit from Tony’s invaluable experience to help strengthen our offering further and to continue building a strong sustainable business.”
Powis added he was delighted with the appointment.
“I am looking forward to supporting David and the existing team of experienced industry leaders to deliver against their ambitious growth strategy and plans,” he said.
“They have a clear vision for the PIB Employee Benefits business and I am thrilled to be joining them at this very exciting time in their journey.”
