Quilter appoints director to promote workplace diversity and inclusion

Financial advice network Quilter has appointed Tazim Essani as a non-executive director with responsibility for promoting diversity and inclusion within the business.

Essani (pictured) is the second non-executive director designated for engagement within the group’s workforce, in line with the 2018 UK corporate governance code.

She will join with Paul Matthews who was given responsibility for engaging with the firm’s employees in May 2020.

“Paul and Tazim will work together to ensure the voice of Quilter’s employees is clearly heard in the board room,” the firm said.

Essani will also join the board audit committee from 1 September, using her executive career experience of interpretation, analysis and presentation of financial statements to contribute to the committee.

“I am looking forward to working with the members of the Quilter board audit committee and to working alongside Paul Matthews, to support and promote engagement with Quilter’s employees and further promoting and building on the diversity and inclusion of our people to benefit all our stakeholders,” Essani said.

Quilter Chairman Glyn Jones added: “I am pleased that Tazim has agreed to take on these important additional roles.

“Tazim’s work with Quilter employees will provide welcome additional focus and support to the efforts of CEO Paul Feeney, and head of inclusion and wellbeing Tosin James-Odukoya, who are leading the work to promote a diverse and inclusive culture.”
