Reframe Cancer buys cancer support provider Alvie Health

Reframe Cancer has acquired Alvie Health which provides cancer support services to Vitality.

The financial terms of the deal, which was finalised at the end of January, have not been disclosed.

Alvie Health was founded five years ago by NHS consultant surgeon Krishna Moorthy, who specialises in oesophageal and gastric cancer.

The company offers coach-led prehabilitation, treatment, rehabilitation and palliative care to improve cancer patients’ recovery.

Reframe Cancer provides specialist nurses, emotional support and practical help to cancer patients.

Reframe Cancer chief executive Mark Stephenson welcomed Krishna Moorthy to the company.

“We see huge potential where Alvie Health have made an impact so far,” he said.

”The National Cancer Plan has also fully committed to cancer prehabilitation, which has enormous clinical value to the NHS in terms of patient outcomes and cost savings,” he added.

Krishna Moorthy said: “Alvie Health is backed by real science, combining our clinical expertise and data analytics to give people the best chance at withstanding their cancer treatment and recover as fast as possible.

“I’m absolutely delighted that Reframe Cancer have committed so fully, to not only acquire Alvie Health, but to have the teams and financial investment to help me realise my dream, as an NHS surgeon, of digital prehabilitation becoming a reality across the NHS.”
