Santé charity golf day raises £1k for Heart Research UK

The second Santé Group charity golf day raised more than £1,000 for Heart Research UK thanks to support from the health and protection sector.

The event brought together more than 70 representatives from across the health and protection insurance and intermediary market at the famous Belfry Golf Club near Birmingham.

A friendly foursome competition was played out among 18 teams on the Belfry’s Derby course with the winning quartet of Kieran Brown, Tom Causton, David Farebrother and Dan Holmes (pictured below) sponsored by Allianz Partners.

The longest drive contest was won by William Pontin, while Mark Nicholson won the closest to the pin title (pictured bottom).

Santé Group chief executive Paul Nugent was delighted with the response from the industry and the charity contribution.

“The second Santé Group golf day was a roaring success and as it was extremely well attended by our industry intermediary and insurer colleagues and clients, we have decided to make it a recurring annual summer event at the Belfry,” he said.

“Our industry is thriving and it makes me proud to be able to host this for our peers and inject some fun and provide networking opportunities via the event.

“We have raised more than £1,000 for our chosen charity Heart Research UK, which adds to our running total of more than £7,000 for 2023 with a target of £10,000 by December.”

Health & Protection again sponsored the event. Editor Owain Thomas said: “I’m pleased we are able to be a part of the industry supporting a great cause and bringing people from across the market together.”
