Shepherds Friendly appoints chairman

Nemone Wynn-Evans is to succeed Joanne Hindle as chairwoman of Shepherds Friendly.

The society revealed Hindle, who has been chairwoman for the past eight years, is stepping down from her role but will stay on a further year as a non-executive director.

Wynn-Evans (pictured) has served as a board member for several years as a non-executive director and, more recently, senior independent director of the mutual.

She has more than 25 years’ executive and non-executive experience in the financial services sector, in a variety of roles including business development, corporate finance and as a former finance director.

Her previous role of senior independent director will be filled by chartered accountant Simon Pashby, who has been a member of the Shepherds Friendly Board since 2016 and acts as voice at the board and whistleblowing champion for staff.

Commenting on her appointment, Wynn-Evans, said: “I am delighted to be stepping up to chair the board. I would also like to offer my sincere gratitude to our previous chairman, Joanne Hindle, for her many years of exemplary service to the society and its members in the role.

“Having been a board member for several years, I have seen the society evolve and grow and I’m very much looking forward to delivering our future plans for our members and for advisers.”
