SIP Medical Family Office expands into UK with Brown and Modini hires

International private medical insurance (IPMI) specialist adviser SIP Medical Family Office is expanding into the UK and has made the move with a pair of hires.

Kieran Brown and Marie Modini have both joined Switzerland-based SIP from fellow Swiss advice firm Advisory Services Network (ASN).

SIP said it was moving into the UK market to assist advisers who want to support their clients across Europe in the post-Brexit regulatory environment.

It already holds insurance brokerage licenses in Switzerland and across the European Economic Area, and is now also entering the UK market through the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) Temporary Permission Regime.

“SIP offers brokers from the UK without a European or Swiss license a solution for continuing their business in continental Europe – and vice versa for brokers in continental Europe that aim to hold and grow their business in the UK post-Brexit Temporary Permission Regime,” it said.

Brown and Modini hired

Brown is well known to the UK market having more than 25 years in the domestic and international PMI industry and is joining as general manager UK for the firm.

He most recently spent 15 months as general manager for the UK at ASN, prior to that he had more than seven years at Now Health International with the last two-and-a-half as general manager.

Brown previously spent seven years as intermediary relationship manager at Cigna UK HealthCare Benefits, and before that had almost four years and seven years in sales consultant roles at Axa PPP Healthcare and Bupa respectively.

Modini joined SIP in April and now expands her role as head of business development to include the UK market.

She too was previously at ASN spending more than four years at the firm with the last three as head of sales.

Prior to that, Modini’s industry experience included two years as relationship manager at Banque Cantonale Vaudoise in Switzerland.

SIP Medical Family Office operations manager at Kevin Bürchler said the firm was “thrilled to have both Marie and Kieran on board for many reasons”.

Brown (pictured right) said the firm was ideally positioned to support broker partners, individuals, and groups.

“In the same way that a family office manages the investments and wealth of wealthy families, SIP’s medical version of a family office manages the health and wellbeing,” he said.

Modini (pictured left) added: “I am delighted to combine the traditions of consulting on international insurance solutions with the evolution of medical concierge services offered by SIP.”
