SM Advice has appointed Chris Miles as managing director as founder Setul Mehta is taking on a more strategic position.
Miles (pictured) joins from The Openwork Partnership, where he has held a number of leadership roles over the past eight years and most recently served as partnership development manager.
He will be leading on day-to-day operations following Mehta’s hiring as protection market lead at Royal London.
Mehta told Health & Protection that he remained the 100% owner of SM Advice.
However, there is a longer-term option for Miles to take a shareholding over time and ultimately buy the business depending on the situation.
Miles said: “I’m thrilled to be joining SM Advice at such a pivotal time. The company’s clear purpose and impact on the adviser community is impressive and I look forward to helping shape its future beyond social media based on what the advisory community are asking for whilst staying true to its mission.”
Setul Mehta, founder of SM Advice, added: “Since launch SM Advice has had a phenomenal response from advisers who want relevant, consistent and compliant social media content.
“Chris’ leadership will allow SM Advice to build on this momentum, expand the service offering and provide even more value to not just clients but the networks, providers and nationals SM Advice works with.”
