The PMI Handbook 2021 launches

The 2021 version of the PMI Handbook, the 254-page reference tool for information on the different PMI plans available in the UK market, has now launched.

The PMI Handbook offers a comprehensive reference source on both individual and group policies from over 20 insurers on a like-for-like basis. Each entry is colour-coded and contains cover comparisons, commission guides, contact details and special points to note on each contract. A glossary of the main medical terms is also included as well as a contact list of International PMI providers.

The publication is aimed at both intermediaries currently active in PMI and those wishing to enter the market and all entries are fully approved by the PMI providers concerned.

“The past year has seen enquiries for PMI cover increase as a result of the pandemic,” says Andrew Green, compiler of the book.

“With NHS waiting lists in the UK rising exponentially, an increase in the number of people taking out cover is anticipated. Even in the longer term, the private medical insurance market is expected to see an increase in demand as it will take time for the NHS to become fully operational. There are many PMI plans available in the UK and the number of different cover combinations is considerable. Therefore, it can be difficult for brokers to keep up to speed on all of the options. This book aims to help them, whether they are already involved in the PMI market or looking to enter the sector.”

The A5 sized handbook is published in loose-leaf binder format and updated annually. While the cost for an annual subscription is £118, discounts are available for members of certain professional trade bodies and an electronic version is also available.

The book is available through Craigdallie Publishing on (01444) 454849 or email at info@thepmihandbook.com.
