UnitedHealthcare Global is entering the German market through the launch of BeHealthy Deutschland expatriate insurance plans.
The launch follows the international health insurer’s entry into the European market in the UK in 2018, and the Netherlands earlier this year.
The main features of the plans include:
- Access to a network of more than 1.4m providers across the world, including the US – a key destination for German expatriates;
- An employee assistance programme (EAP) providing telephone, online and face-to-face counselling, including legal and financial advisory services;
- Maternity benefits including routine and personalised maternity care services;
- Well child cover, up to a child’s sixth birthday for physical examinations and other medical support;
- Additional benefits for children including eye and hearing tests for those under 15;
- In-house global assistance and security benefits, embedded across all plan levels, including Covid testing and vaccine tracker tools;
- Optional comprehensive dental plans, with rich annual maximum limits;
- Apps to support healthy lifestyles and resources on a range of personal and work-related topics.
Janette Hiscock, CEO of United Healthcare Global, Europe, said she was excited to offer plans to many potential new clients across Germany and their expatriate employees.
“This is a very important market for us and is the next step in expanding our footprint across Europe,” she added.
The Central Bank of Ireland regulates United Healthcare Global as it conducts business across the European Economic Area (EEA) on a freedom of services basis.
The new solution will provide the choice to purchase and access global health and wellbeing coverage through United Healthcare Global.
