International health insurer Vumi has launched in Europe with a base in Malta to provide plans for EU populations.
It is offering three versions of its Euro Health plan at launch – Priority, Pro and Premier.
These offer €3m, €4m and €5m in annual benefits repectively covering individuals, families and global citizens.
There are three areas of geographical cover available: European Union, Worldwide excluding USA and Worldwide, and deductible options range from €0 to €10,000.
Telemedicine is included in all plans and the insurer said members can access any healthcare provider of their choice, without network restrictions within the chosen geographical area of cover.
Announcing its launch, Vumi Europe managing director Niels Bay Haaber revealed the company had spent the past few years in preparation designing its insurance products, developing IT systems, obtaining an insurance license and building out its team in Europe.
“It has truly been a great journey for everyone involved,” Bay Haaber said.
“In an increasingly unstable and digitalised world, we are excited to bring the security and personal touch of the insurance solutions that Vumi offer.”
But Bay Haaber added the move represented more than geographic expansion.
“It reflects Vumi’s long-term vision, our operational strength, and our ability to deliver flexible solutions that meet the evolving needs of today’s global consumers,” he continued.
“None of this could have happened without my amazing colleagues, including many I have worked with since our IHI days. I would therefore like to personally thank everyone who contributed to achieving this milestone.”
