Western Storm players add voices to WPA wellbeing video series

Women’s cricket team Western Storm are participating in WPA’s wellbeing content series as part of a partnership with the health insurer.

The two organisations will be collaborating on a wellbeing series, supplementing videos already produced with Somerset County Cricket team which shares Western Storm’s Taunton home.

In February WPA and Somerset County Cricket Club joined forces to produce a series of videos on a range of mental health topics.

The videos form part of WPA’s health and wellbeing strategy to raise awareness and help individuals and companies improve their mental wellbeing, and will be are added to a health and wellbeing hub for everyone to view.

The partnership with Western Storm will also see WPA’s branding appear on match shirts and sponsorship of the livestream coverage of games at the Cooper Associates County Ground in Taunton.

Charlie MacEwan, corporate communications director at WPA, said: “This is so much more than contributing to Western Storm’s victories in 2022, it complements WPA’s wellbeing strategy of the last two years, when many of us have been anxious, be it for ourselves, our family, friends and colleagues.

“Integral to that strategy has been the WPA Health and Wellbeing hub which has a treasure trove of information helping everyone, whether a WPA member or not, live healthier lives.

“Somerset Cricket and England players have inspired visitors with their recent video series, now available on the hub,” MacEwan continued.

“Western Storm’s perspectives will now underline how, professional sportsperson or not, male or female, we all experience pressures, and the hub includes a broad range of coping mechanisms for all to use in our professional and personal lives.”
