In Bupa’s latest workplace Health and Wellbeing Academy for small businesses Piers Linney, award winning entrepreneur and former Dragons’ Den investor, was joined by a panel of experts to discuss ways small businesses can manage and prevent workplace absence.

The session sees Richard Norris, Director of Small Businesses at Bupa and Jo Mackie, employment lawyer at Slater & Gordon, explore key drivers of workplace absence, how to manage occupational health and the legal risks associated with failing to take appropriate action.

Bupa’s Dr Andrea Killick looked into how employers can support the MSK (musculoskeletal) health of their employees to prevent the risk of re-occurring absences.

Rupert Carter, a small business owner and Bupa customer was on hand to share wellbeing initiatives that have worked well to improve employee wellbeing and pro-actively reduce absence.
