WPA adds men’s health support to LifeStage Health

Health insurer WPA has extended its LifeStage Health to include support for men’s health.

The service launched in November with an initial focus on supporting female employees throughout each of life’s natural stages. This has now been extended to include the “unspoken challenges” associated with men’s health.

Men’s health support covers promoting screening and help reaching a diagnosis, consultations, diagnostic tests and procedures, scans and screening, vasectomies and support for men for issues such as erectile dysfunction and undescended testes.

In April WPA announced it would be extending coverage to specility services for men along with a planned roll out to SME clients.

The purpose of LifeStage Health is to facilitate access, raise awareness and promote understanding of life’s natural challenges, irrespective of gender and at whatever stage of life someone is a, the insurer said.

This includes supporting members with issues that, to-date, are often not talked about and faced by partners, family, friends and colleagues.

Sharon Shier, head of product development at WPA, said: “With the end of the pandemic and recruitment challenges, companies are putting their corporate healthcare strategies under the microscope.

“They are wanting to broaden benefits and beneficiaries and LifeStage Health has been built with flexibility in mind.

“Including men was a part of the plan as is the roll-out to the SME market in the autumn. That flexibility means that companies can purchase it as a standalone benefit or supplement their current healthcare benefits.”
