WPA increases highest no claims discount and adds £250 no impact limit

WPA is increasing its maximum no claims discount (NCD) and allowing claims up to £250 without harming the discount earned.

The changes apply to the Complete Health product for retail customers.

The insurer has added a new 15th level on its NCD ladder, offering a 73% discount for customers who reach their third renewal without making claims that affect their NCD position.

It said it also wanted to reward customers who take proactive action to improve their health and so will not penalise those who claim up to £250.

WPA confirmed customers can claim up to £250 and keep their place on the NCD ladder, with no affect on their discount – up or down.

“This enhancement encourages customers to seek early diagnosis, treatment and preventive care, knowing that taking proactive steps to maintain or improve their health will not impact their no claims discount,“ WPA said.

Claims above £250 will continue to follow the existing NCD rules.

Sharon Shier, executive director of retail customers and chief customer officer, (pictured) said: “By refining the no claims discount, we’re empowering customers to take proactive steps in managing their health, without worrying about unnecessary movement on the NCD ladder.

“These enhancements reflect our commitment to sustainable pricing and supporting early intervention, creating a fairer and more encouraging experience for all WPA customers.”
