VitalityLife offers cash back to Child SIC policyholders

VitalityLife says new protection policy holders who take out child serious illness cover (Child SIC) will be able to get cashback on their first 12 months premiums on Child SIC.

The offer is available to new policy holders from now until 22nd May who complete an online health review and have cover starting before 22nd June. The cashback offer applies for up to two children.

Vitality introduced its new Personal Protection Plan in September last year to simplify and improve its offering for members. As part of this plan, Vitality introduced a simplified standalone Child SIC option where members can opt to add named children to either their Serious Illness, Life, Income Protection or Mortgage Protection policy.

Vitality’s Child SIC includes all conditions available on the adult Serious Illness plan. In addition, Vitality’s unique Serious Illness Cover model pays out based on the severity of the condition, meaning policy holders are able to claim multiple times on the same policy if necessary.

Children covered by the product receive access to the Vitality Kids Zone – an online hub of health and wellbeing – as well as incentives for families to lead healthier lifestyles, such as discounts at Disney Store. This is in addition to parents being able to access the Vitality Programme.

John Downes, Director of Claims and Underwriting at Vitality, said: “The pandemic has caused us all to think about health and mortality in a new way. As people look to safeguard their incomes and protect their loved ones against unexpected events, we want to encourage people to think about also putting protection in place for their children.

“Our aim is to create products that meet the needs of our members, which is why we’ve made sure our Child Serious Illness Cover is simple to add onto an adult protection product, that it covers over 150 conditions, and hassle-free to claim should the worst happen.”
