Business Protection Focus is launching a one-day virtual conference which will take place on 9 September.
Stuart Halliwell, owner of Stuart Halliwell Consulting, launched BP Focus week last year to help businesses understand the uncertainty of risks, bring to life the effects of a potential loss, and to make the right decisions in protecting themselves against.
Halliwell explained that following the successes of BP Focus week, which returned earlier this year, he is introducing a different format for the second event of 2026 with a one-day virtual conference with eight discussions and presentations across the day.
Through a collaboration across the insurance market, including advisers, specialists, insurers and reinsurers, the event will deliver a series of 30 minute discussions and presentations covering a range of topics.
This will include:
- Insights into awareness of risk and opportunities including the latest research
- Conversation starters and the four conversations every business owner should have
- Professional connections insights from a solicitor looking at shareholder protection
- IHT and Budget changes impacts on business protection
- Better business practices including the role of critical illness
- Support from networks for advisers looking to write business protection
- Interaction of business protection and group protection
- The roles of executive income protection and other income protection products
The individual events are designed to not only bring to life the need for businesses to be protected, but also to provide practical and useful tips which will appeal to all advisers whether they are new to the business protection area or have been in it for a while.
All sessions are on a virtual basis, free to attend and the registration links can be found via the website www.bpfocus.org.uk.
