MAXIS Global Benefits Network, the international employee benefits joint venture between MetLife and AXA, has promoted Paul Lewis to the role of regional director – Americas.

Lewis will report to Ricardo Almeida, head of business development at MAXIS GBN, who led the Americas team himself before taking on the new role.

MAXIS GBN is also creating a new strategic accounts division in the Americas region, which Lewis will oversee.

Lewis said that the Americas is “one of the most competitive markets, home to some of the world’s largest multinationals and has a highly sophisticated employee benefits sector”.

He said: “Our ambition is to build on our momentum in the region by focusing on innovation while continuing to offer the best solutions and service to multinationals with our experienced, dedicated team.”

Lewis has over 15 years of experience working with multinational organisations and implementing global employee benefits programmes. He joined MAXIS GBN in 2016 and most recently headed up the US East Region’s Business Development team.

Prior to joining MAXIS GBN, Lewis was a regional sales manager with MetLife Expatriate Benefits and had worked for eight years with Aetna within Underwriting and International Account Management. He obtained his BBA in Risk Management and Insurance from the University of Georgia’s Terry College of Business.

In addition, Paul Miehlke has become the director of MAXIS GBN’s newly formed Americas Strategic Accounts division. Christinea Chase is also expanding her role as a senior client relationship manager for the East of the US, while Diana Daszewski is being promoted to senior account manager. Miehlke, Chase and Daszewski will all report to Lewis.
