The Cromwell Hospital has opened a paediatric sports medicine clinic which supports children and adolescents with injuries sustained while playing sport.

Based in Kensington, the Children and Adolescent Sports Medicine clinic is the first of its kind to be set up on a Saturday in London and offers advice from a consultant and ongoing treatment the same day if required.

Whether concerned by a ligament injury, sprains, or any other non-urgent injuries related to bones or ligaments caused by taking part in sport, parents and coaches can now call Cromwell Hospital on a Saturday and speak with a consultant orthopedic surgeon.

If the consultant thinks that a child needs to be seen that day, they will invite them into Cromwell Hospital for an on-site outpatient consultation.

Here they can be assessed, receive the necessary imaging and tests, and commence treatment that same day.

Meanwhile the Royal Marsden has opened a research-led, diagnostic, outpatient and treatment facility in London’s Cavendish Square (pictured).

This new facility offers a diagnostic imaging suite offering MRI, CT, X-Ray, ultrasound and mammography and provides patients with access to The Royal Marsden’s diagnostic and research active consultants specialising in a range of cancer services.
