Eight in 10 adults in England and Wales have Covid antibodies – proteins that help the body fight viruses.
Data released by the Office for National Statistics (ONS) reveals 82.7% of adults in Wales would have tested positive for Covid antibodies in a blood test in the week commencing 17 May 2021.
This means they have either had Covid in the past or been vaccinated.
Wales is closely followed by England (80.3% of the population), Northern Ireland (79.9%) and then Scotland (72.6%).
Across all four nations at least 70% of adults are estimated to have received at least one vaccination with Northern Ireland leading the way at around around 81.5%.
And Northern Ireland also leads on double vaccinations, with more than half its adult population receiving both shots.
