Legal & General Group Protection has launched a new online quote and buy platform for advisers.
The platform offers quick access to quotes through automated underwriting and identifies and refers any less common client requirements for the insurer’s underwriters to review.
It can be used to provide applications for businesses looking to cover 10 or more employees and intermediaries can upload employee data templates and quickly verify employers via a direct link to Companies House.
L&G said the platform allows for greater flexibility and enhanced options to support online quote requirements with restrictions removed on a number of claims, special underwriting terms and overseas employees.
An excepted group life policy quote journey is included using automation to deliver a quote straight away with complex requests passed to manual scheme underwriting.
Intermediaries can amend existing quotes for alternatives, create new quotes on a different basis, personalise quotes to support client requirements and create a task list for quotes placed on-risk, enabling submission for any required documentation online.
Legal & General is also updating it SME group protection sales materials which are designed to help intermediaries make products more relevant and straightforward for SME clients.
Colin Fitzgerald, distribution director of Legal & General Group Protection, (pictured) said: “Intermediaries are often time poor, admin heavy.
“It’s probably safe to say smaller customers have been time consuming for advisers and don’t get the attention they really need – a one size fits all approach is common with little time to consult. And many generalist intermediaries are under the impression that group protection – and wellbeing per se – is just too complicated.
“Our goal is to bring workplace protection benefits to more people through digital innovation designed to expand market opportunities, save time, remove complexities and put the intermediary in control. By being more flexible with quote options and less rigid with eligibility, Online Insurance Experience affords the intermediary greater certainty, control and quick decisions.”
